I am back. Phew.
The past couple months have been insane. With finishing a certification, a new job, husband starting grad school, continuing work on the house, I just needed a break. I am so thankful for all of you and how you continue to view my pages and posts even if I haven’t posted in many weeks.
While I’ve been away I have finally finished a certification through Restorative Wellness Solutions . This certification was only a mere 15 weeks, but felt like a year! This certification allows me to evaluate and effectively restore the dysfunctions and ill health that plague our society. We became fluent about adrenal fatigue, restoring gastrointestinal health, special diets, male/female hormones and bone health and addressed emotional components to health. In this certification we looked through many case studies and a variety of lab exams and learned how to evaluate and provide proper protocols for moving forward.

New Job: Mercy Ministries
I have also started a new job! I’ve been very conflicted about my future through the past couple months and after many prayers and tears God swung open a door. I have never wanted a corporate job due to my personal believes in nutrition and health. However, I always stated that if Mercy Ministries offered me a position I would have to take it.
“Mercy Ministries’ free-of-charge, voluntary, faith-based residential program serves young women from all socio-economic backgrounds, ages 13-28, who face a combination of life-controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, drug and alcohol addictions, depression and unplanned pregnancy. Mercy also serves young women who have been physically and sexually abused, including victims of sex trafficking. Using proven methods, a holistic approach and professional counselors in a structured residential environment, Mercy has helped thousands of young women be restored to wholeness. Mercy’s goal is to help these young women find freedom from their issues and empower them to serve in their communities as productive citizens.”
What do I do at Mercy?
I was taken on as the Kitchen Manager at the Nashville Mercy home. The Nashville holds a maximum of 40 girls at a time all of which stay 24/7 during the duration of the program unless they are approved to go visit home or family/friends for the weekend.
I manage all things in the kitchen whether food, shopping, supplies, menus, recipes, organization, and teaching the girls how to prepare meals. The girls are the ones who prepare each meal and I help manage this process.
Our house renovations are slowly moving forward. We were able to complete phase 1 of our front yard landscaping which consists of creating the beds and planting in new bushes for the front and side of the house. (Video coming soon) Phase two will come during the spring with planting flowers and filling in the rest of the beds with plants. Our next project is to finish putting in the baseboards, filling holes, and touching up paint. We will then HOPEFULLY begin the much anticipated kitchen!!
Jay has begun his Master’s in Business with a concentration in health management. We are very excited for this! He will take about 3 years to finish because he is taking it part time so that he can still work. I will update you on the adventures of having a husband in graduate school.
What to expect for the blog??
I will continue to post weekly. Starting next week! I am so excited to get back into the rhythm of things and bring you all more fun things to try!
I will also be including vblogs (video blogs)! This is big step for me personally because I feel that it is a very intimate experience. I have really come to love the vblogs I see and think it would be a great way for you all to see into my daily life, learn recipes, and home improvement projects. Check back to see them in the future. I will also include links to my future Youtube channel.
Thanks everyone so much! See you next week!
